Asbell Elementary held their monthly Roadrunner Rally assembly this morning, and it was a blast! Asbell music teacher Pam Pittman and the Asbell spirit squad revealed a new set of African drums (tubanos) for their music program! Fayetteville High School Culinary Year 1 students learned about heat control by scrambling eggs to different levels of doneness during their foundational course with FHS instructor Chef Richard Bell. The FHS Culinary Arts program is a concurrent credit program in partnership with Fayetteville Public Schools, Brightwater NWA, and the Fayetteville Public Library. The Culinary Arts program is part of the Career and Technical Education in Fayetteville Public Schools .

Fayetteville Public Schools is hosting a Community Night of Coding event to celebrate Computer Science Education Week on Wednesday, December 6 from 5:30-7:00 pm in the FHS Cafeteria.
There will be hands-on computer science-related activities for pre-K through 12th-grade students and their families. Robots, minicomputers, games, crafts and more! Come play, make, and code with us!

Leverett Elementary’s fall STEAM night was a huge success! Students enjoyed learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) from a wide range of community resources. The event offered seventeen different hands-on learning experiences for the whole family!

Our 13th Annual Local Harvest Lunch is kid-approved! Students, parents, and staff enjoyed locally sourced lunch made with ingredients from farms and small businesses in Northwest Arkansas.
Chef Kent Getzin is in Fayetteville Public Schools working with Happy Hollow Elementary Child Nutrition Department this week, thanks to a generous grant funded and supported by the LifeTime Foundation.

Fayetteville area state legislators, Nicole Clowney for Arkansas, Denise Firmin Garner, Greg Leding, and David Whitaker visited three of our schools today as part of “Take Your Legislator to School Day.” They were joined by school board members and district administrators. The group experienced a variety of classroom settings with stops at the new John L Colbert Middle School, Leverett Elementary School, and Woodland Junior High School.










October 16th - 20th is National School Bus Safety Awareness Week! This week we're joining the nationwide effort to raise awareness about the importance of school bus safety and reminding everyone to be cautious on the roads. It takes all of us working together to keep our children safe on the school bus!🚌

We had a great turnout for our Fayetteville Public Schools annual ESL Family Night. Students and their families enjoyed pizza, games, and interacting with staff from many FPS and community programs. Thanks to a grant from the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation everyone took home board games, books, and supplies to practice literacy and math skills. The night was made even better by the volunteers: bilingual student ambassadors from Fayetteville High School. We are proud to celebrate our diverse student body and their cultural backgrounds!










Congratulations to the Fayetteville High School Film/TV program! They attended the annual Ozark Media Arts Festival and came out on top.
FHS Film/TV also received the Video Program of the Year award, the highest honor for TV/Film. It came with a cash prize worth $2,000 for their program!
