Students in Outdoor Education at ALLPS recently traveled to Clear Creek in Johnson for a hands on learning experience focused on environmental science and responsibility. 🌿💧
During the trip, students used water sampling kits to test the creek for nitrate and phosphate levels, helping them better understand water quality and ecosystem health. They also studied macroinvertebrates, which can provide important clues about the overall condition of a stream.
In addition to collecting data, students took part in creek cleanup efforts, combining science, service, and outdoor learning in a meaningful way. What a great opportunity to connect classroom learning to the natural world! 💜

Fayetteville High School Sports Broadcasting class recently received a precision playback device used for replaying sports plays, thanks to a grant from the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation! We caught students getting hands-on experience with the new equipment and learning how to use this exciting tool that brings real-world broadcasting skills into the classroom!

The Foundation’s new Executive Director, Tony Moten, Jr., was on hand to see the equipment in action, along with Foundation Coordinator Maya Lewis, as students practiced using the new technology.

Fayetteville Public Schools’ annual District Art Show is now on display at the Fayetteville Public Library! We loved seeing students and families enjoying the artwork together at the reception, featuring over 140 pieces from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The exhibit highlights the incredible talent of our students and the inspiring work happening in our Visual Arts classrooms across the district. You can view the collection in the McIlroy Hallway near the Event Center until April 6th.

Gifted Education students at McNair Middle School investigated amphibian physiology through the dissection of frogs in Ms. Huneycutt’s and Ms. Keen’s classes. By utilizing technical instructions, students successfully identified various organs and analyzed their biological roles.

Students then synthesized their findings by comparing frog and human anatomy, ultimately applying their knowledge through a creative writing exercise.

We had a great turnout at the Safe Routes to School Open House last night at Woodland Junior High School! Representatives from Fayetteville Public Schools, the City of Fayetteville Arkansas Government, and Toole Design Group were on hand to answer questions and gather community feedback on the draft plans. Supported by the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission, this marks the first Safe Routes to School Plan in our region.

Families enjoyed activities for students, food, and opportunities for meaningful conversations about how we can make getting to school safer and more accessible for everyone.

Fayetteville High School students in Mr. O'Connell's Engineering I & II classes are bringing a robotic arm to life from the ground up! Not only are they tackling the complex wiring, but they also custom 3D-printed the purple components.
Once the build is complete, the team will write the custom code that will allow the arm to move and perform various tasks.

Root Elementary has been celebrating Multicultural Week with meaningful opportunities to learn about cultures and traditions from around the world. Today, students enjoyed a special presentation about China from a Root parent who shared authentic items and gave students a firsthand look at the country’s rich culture and traditions. Experiences like this bring learning to life and broaden students’ understanding of the world!

Tonight, Root families will gather for Multicultural Family Dinner Night to celebrate a week filled with meaningful learning and connection! 💜
